Kingston, NJ — December 23 — At the station, Medserv performed a Basic Life Support and Automated External Defibrillator training course for members of Kingston Volunteer Fire Company #1, located at 8 Heathcote Road. The program's major goal was to keep participants prepared for medical emergencies by updating their BLS and CPR certifications. Members honed their abilities by simulating typical emergency situations, such as respiratory difficulties and cardiac arrest, on adult and newborn mannequins. AED deployment, scene safety, and patient assessment before transport or advanced care were also covered in the instruction. The American Heart Association's national guidelines encourage the use of AEDs and CPR as soon as possible to enhance patient outcomes. In order to keep responders ready to help the community in times of medical emergency, the department promotes ongoing training.
