Squad 1 Assists with Vehicle Entrapment on Route 35

In Tuscarora Township, the Friendship Fire Company No. 1 responded to a car collision involving entrapment late on Sunday night (Dec. 27th). Due to a reported MVA with entrapment along Route 35, Squad 1 was sent to Beale Township Fire Company Box 5-03 at 8:58 p.m. Six members of Squad 1 and four members of Utility 1 responded. Kevin Palm, Chief 1-2, verified the occurrence when he got on the site.

Together, firefighters from Companies 5, 2, and 1 were able to reach the patient who was stuck inside the car. About twenty minutes after Company 1 was sent out, at 9:18 p.m., the extraction was declared finished. Units were available soon after 11:00 p.m. and stayed on the site for additional operations. PennDOT was asked to close Route 35 as a result of the incident. The call was answered by 14 members of Friendship Fire Company No. 1.
