Avenel, NJ — December 20 — In order to create a landing area for an arriving medical helicopter, members of the Avenel Fire Department and the Woodbridge Fire Department responded to Avenel Middle School. To prepare the site, crews coordinated ground activities, guarded the area, and identified potential threats.

NorthSTAR & SouthSTAR Air Medical set up the landing zone for a Medivac helicopter used by the New Jersey State Police. To ensure scene safety and clear access routes, firefighters collaborated with law enforcement and air medical professionals. Units stayed on the site till the aircraft safely took off after operations were finished without any problems. During an air medical operation, the reaction showed good interagency coordination.
