In November, the Eggemoggin Fire Company (Stonington, Deer Isle and Sedgwick, Maine Volunteer Fire Departments) gathered in Sedgwick, Maine for a controlled burn of an abandoned building on Caterpillar Hill. Over 50 firefighters came from surrounding departments, including Blue Hill, Orland and Penobscot, Maine to train on exterior and interior fire attack procedures. From start to finish, the burn took a matter of hours and all personnel were clear with no reported injuries.
