The Linglestown Fire Company operated a 1982 Sutphen pumper (1250/1000) as Engine 35 until it was replaced in 2000 and then moved to a reserve unit for the three stations that operated in Lower Paxton Township. As a township reserve (Engine 82) served until it was sold to the Newtown Fire Company (Pennsylvania) in 2010. Serving as Engine 24-16, the '82 continued to serve for ten more years until the end of 2020 where it was placed up for sale. The Glen Gardner Fire Company (New Jersey) was in need of a reserve pumper and acquired the 1982 Pierce. The white cab and body with a single blue stripe made it easy to stick out with Glen Gardner's traditional red & white apparatus, the engine was fittingly nicknamed the "oddball". The "oddball" operated as a reserve for most of it's time in New Jersey but, it did receive some front line status when one of Glen Gardner's engines was sent out for refurb. In 2024 the "oddball was placed back up for sale.
After seeing the listing, a life member M. Kraska of the Linglestown Fire Company made the move to bring it back home. The Kraska family now privately owns the well traveled '82 and has worked to restore it back to it's days as Engine 35 in Linglestown. This past summer, the Kraska family attended a few local events to showcase the '82 Pierce and plans to continue to show it off locally.
