Woodland Park Police Captain Jeffrey O’Brien

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

It is with deep regret and sadness that the Woodland Park Police Department announces the passing of Police Captain Jeffrey O’Brien. Jeff has been courageously battling Brain Cancer for the past 8 years. He joined the Woodland Park Police Department in 2000, rising to the rank of Police Captain in 2021. He passed away at home with his family by his side on Monday, November 21, 2022. Born in Paterson, Jeffrey was raised in Clifton where he was a 1991 graduate of Clifton High School. He then earned a Bachelors Degree from Montclair State University. In 1995, Jeffrey moved to Woodland Park where he has lived since. He became a dedicated member of the Woodland Park Police Department in 2000 and rose to the rank of Captain. Captain O’Brien was a member of the Woodland Park P.B.A. Local 173; the New Jersey State P.B.A. and the Passaic County Emerald Society. Our thoughts and prayers are with Captain O’Brien’s family and friends. Captain O’Brien, you are loved and will always be missed. Rest In Peace, Brother.
