Colchester, CT. — October 8, 2026 — Steve Shorts was elected as the new vice president by the Colchester Hayward Volunteer Fire Company at its annual meeting.
Company members selected Shorts to assume the leadership position. The company congratulated him on his new role and welcomed him to the position.
Members also acknowledged outgoing Vice President Lieutenant Keith Kundahl for his years of service, dedication and commitment to the organization.
Kundahl will leave the executive board but stay as an active member. The company stated its commitment to continuing to work with him.
