North Yarmouth, ME - Firefighters from North Yarmouth Fire Rescue and Falmouth Fire-EMS converged on the Yarmouth Training Facility on Sunday evening to conduct rigorous, synchronized live fire attack training in Cumberland County.

The joint evolution, held during the evening of Sunday, October 25, 2026 (with department debriefs issued Monday, October 26), took advantage of shared recurring training schedules to integrate personnel from both neighboring agencies under controlled live burn conditions.

Crews advanced primary attack hose lines into the training burn structure, executing aggressive thermal management, nozzle mechanics, search and rescue coordination, and tactical ventilation under authentic high-heat and dense-smoke conditions. The structured evolutions allowed firefighters to drill across command structures, standardize communication terminology, and evaluate mutual hose-handling practices.

Department leadership emphasized that realistic, hands-on evolutions with automatic mutual aid partners are essential for establishing operational cohesion, ensuring seamless and safe execution when both Cumberland County departments operate together at real-world structure fires.
