At a little after 0700 hours on October 18, 2026, the Gloucester County Fire Alarm Room dispatched the West Deptford Fire Department and automatic aid units to 512 Audubon Avenue for the report of a dwelling fire. Initial reports were that there was an exterior fire that extended to the dwelling. WDFD Fire Chief Anthony Ferriola reported a smoke column from blocks away. First in units reported smoke showing from a one story SFD. Crews knocked the fire on the interior and also knocked the fire in the rear of the dwelling. The natural gas meter was compromised from the fire at the rear of the house so the meter was monitored until the utility company arrived and secured the meter. The fire was placed under control in less than 20 minutes.
