North Conway, N.H. — October 20 — Members of the North Conway Firefighters Association underwent CPR recertification training, dedicating the session to a comprehensive review of essential protocols for managing cardiac and respiratory emergencies. The curriculum encompassed resuscitation techniques for adults, children, and infants, alongside critical interventions including ventilation management, choking response maneuvers, and the operational deployment of automated external defibrillators (AEDs).

Participants underwent a comprehensive refresher on the administration of ventilations utilizing both face masks and bag-valve masks (BVMs), instruments essential for delivering assisted respiration to patients exhibiting inadequate spontaneous breathing. Furthermore, members scrutinized established protocols for managing airway obstructions caused by choking and engaged in practical drills to ensure proficiency in the operation of automated external defibrillators (AEDs).

This training program underscores the critical necessity for emergency responders to sustain their proficiency in both theoretical knowledge and practical application.

The American Heart Association's current CPR protocols emphasize the delivery of high-quality chest compressions, the administration of rescue breathing, the proper utilization of automated external defibrillators (AEDs), and comprehensive care strategies for both adult and pediatric patients.

Recertification serves as a critical mechanism for responders to revisit established protocols, hone equipment proficiency, and solidify coordinated operational tactics during medical emergencies.

For firefighters engaged in emergency medical response, the maintenance of these competencies remains an indispensable component of their preparedness. The North Conway Firefighters Association was listed at PO Box 235, North Conway, New Hampshire, 03860.
