North Conway Firefighters Visited Vaughn Learning Center During Fire Prevention Week

North Conway, N.H. — October 8 — On October 8, members of the North Conway Firefighters Association conducted a Fire Prevention Week outreach initiative at Vaughn Learning Center, affording students the chance to inspect a fire truck, familiarize themselves with its specialized equipment, and interact directly with firefighters.

Throughout the visit, students examined the apparatus and its associated tools as firefighters detailed the operational protocols employed during emergency responses. The children observed the meticulous process of donning personal protective equipment (PPE), thereby gaining an intimate understanding of the specialized gear utilized in fire suppression and rescue operations.

Furthermore, the students actively engaged the firefighters by posing inquiries regarding the fire truck, the technical equipment, and the nature of the firefighters' professional duties. Facilitating direct engagement between children and fire safety personnel during school and childcare visits enables fire departments to deliver critical safety information within an interactive educational environment.
