Bolton, CT — October 10 — Over the weekend, personnel from the Bolton Fire Department and the Andover Volunteer Fire Department converged upon the Eastern Connecticut Fire School in Willimantic to conduct live-fire training exercises.
This collaborative exercise afforded personnel the chance to hone fireground competencies within a controlled setting.
Through participation in simulated fire scenarios, firefighters cultivated enhanced capabilities to function effectively under active fire conditions, foster cohesive teamwork, and mount proficient responses to emergency situations.
These exercises further facilitated joint training for personnel from both departments, thereby fostering enhanced coordination between adjacent agencies. By engaging in such collaborative drills, firefighters gain familiarity with disparate operational methodologies and cultivate the proficiency necessary to function effectively as a cohesive unit during mutual-aid deployments.
The Eastern Connecticut Fire School offers specialized facilities for live-fire instruction, featuring a Class A burn building capable of supporting fire attack training across ground level, subterranean, and elevated environments. These versatile training zones enable firefighters to hone their operational skills under conditions that closely mirror real-world scenarios.
Live-fire training continues to serve as a cornerstone of firefighter preparedness. Through the consistent execution of practical drills, personnel not only preserve their technical proficiencies and rehearse operational protocols but also acclimatize themselves to the exigencies they may encounter during real-world emergencies.
This training session underscored the unwavering dedication of Bolton and Andover firefighters to their ongoing professional growth, collaborative teamwork, and the imperative of community safety. Headquartered at 168 Bolton Center Road in Bolton, Connecticut, the Bolton Fire Department operates from this specific location.
