The course also included instruction on the proper operation and maintenance of ladder company tools and equipment.

Truck company firefighters support fire suppression and rescue operations by gaining access to buildings, searching for occupants, providing ventilation, and placing and operating ladders. Their work also helps support other crews operating at emergency scenes.
