New Rochelle, N.Y. — October 10, 2026 — Nine members of the New Rochelle Fire Department attended a three-day Tactical Emergency Casualty Care and Rescue Task Force training course at New York Medical College this week.

The hands-on course focused on lifesaving skills, including controlling severe bleeding, treating injuries, and safely reaching and rescuing people in dangerous situations. Firefighters also took part in extended emergency scenarios designed to prepare them for complex incidents.

The training marked the third group of New Rochelle firefighters to complete the course. The department said it plans to continue sending members, with the goal of having the entire department receive the training.
