This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Purchased and built in 1971 by Mount Penn Fire Company in Berks County, PA, this truck was delivered and started service in late 1972 for the total cost of $30,000.

It served the Borough of Mount Penn, PA from September 1972 until January 1998 when it was sold to a private business.

The truck ended up in the Schulkill Historical Fire Society "Graveyard", in Schuylkill County, PA where it was purchased back by Tim Waldman for a small donation.

A full off-frame restoration was done between 2021 and 2025 by Fire Line Equipment of New Holland, PA. The original 361 Cu.In.210HP V8 was completely rebuilt. The Boom, Waterway, and Bucket were rewired with along with new hydraulics. All lighting was upgraded to LED and the paint was returned to the original color from 1972.

To finish off the restoration, lettering and graphics were hand painted and reproduced to original using the Fire Company's early photos.

Lettering was done by Danz Lettering, Woxall, PA.

Tim and Steve Waldman who are still members with the Mt.Penn fire company now own and have the truck stored in Oley, Pa.
