Firefighters from Melrose Fire Rescue and Putnam County Fire Rescue conducted aircraft and airport familiarization training with multiple different aircraft types during the 2021 Melrose Landing airport fly in event that was held on 16 October 2021. Several of the airport residents/pilots performed some hands-on training on emergency egress and basic aircraft hazard training. Additionally, firefighters participated in an uncontrolled airport training presentation conducted by the FAA.
