ARKPORT, N.Y., Sept. 6, 2025 — Two members of the Arkport Fire Department participated in a grain bin rescue class hosted at the Howard Fire Hall on Saturday.
The Howard Fire Department recently acquired specialized grain bin rescue equipment through a grant, and as part of the program, offered a regional training session for neighboring departments. Grain bin rescues are rare but high-risk incidents, requiring both unique tools and specialized knowledge to perform safely.
Arkport Fire expressed appreciation to Howard Fire for the invitation and for hosting the class, calling the training a valuable resource for the area.
