Bartlett Members Practiced Challenging Victim Rescue Operations

Glen, NH — September 15 — Members of the Bartlett Firefighters Association participated in hands-on training designed to enhance their victim rescue abilities during their regular firehouse session.

The firefighters constructed an obstacle course using the equipment and materials found at the station.

Pairs of firefighters navigated the course in complete darkness, wearing full protective gear and using self-contained breathing apparatus, or SCBA.

The training emphasized essential skills such as locating a victim, reaching the person, moving through tight spaces, and safely extracting the individual while working as a team.

The reduced visibility and challenging obstacles created conditions that forced firefighters to communicate effectively and make decisions while operating on limited air supply.

These types of training exercises offer firefighters the chance to practice rescue techniques in a controlled environment, without the stress of a real emergency.
