Alton Fire Department Marked 25th Anniversary of 9/11

Alton, NH — September 11 — Alton Fire & Rescue observed the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks by honoring the victims, first responders, and families impacted by the events of that day.
Over 3,000 individuals lost their lives in the attacks, including 343 firefighters from the New York City Fire Department.
The 9/11 Memorial & Museum also recorded the deaths of 23 New York Police Department officers, 37 Port Authority Police officers, and other emergency personnel who responded to the World Trade Center.
During the 25th anniversary, members of the fire and emergency services community took a moment to remember those who acted in the attacks and those who later passed away due to health effects related to 9/11.
The 9/11 Memorial continues to honor the victims and the individuals who courageously helped others.
Alton Fire & Rescue continued to provide essential services to its community, including fire suppression, emergency medical care, technical rescue, and hazardous-material response. The department operated from four stations and maintained 24-hour emergency response coverage.
The anniversary provided an opportunity to reflect on the lives lost and the enduring influence of September 11 on the emergency services community.
