Orono Schools Practice Emergency Procedures With Firefighter

Orono, Maine — September 19, 2026 — On Thursday, firefighters participated in fire drills at Orono High School and Asa C. Adams Elementary School, allowing students and staff to practice emergency evacuation procedures with local firefighters. 

The drills were carried out as part of a planned training and preparedness exercise. Levant Fire & Rescue said that students and staff at both schools performed well during the drills. 

Asa C. Adams Elementary School is situated at 6 Goodridge Drive in Orono and falls under Regional School Unit 26. The school caters to students in elementary grades and occupies a campus that is shared with Orono’s other schools.
