Four New Faces Join the Charlton Fire Family

Charlton, Mass. — September 15 — The Charlton Fire Department has welcomed four new firefighters who started their orientation this week in preparation for joining the crews that serve the community. 

The new members are Michael Dyson, Ashley Potenti, Cameron Howe, and Alex Lanpher. The department stated that the four firefighters will begin by working alongside Charlton’s captains, gaining familiarity with the department’s vehicles, gear, rules, protocols, daily routines, and standards. 

Once the orientation is complete, firefighters will be placed into their assigned groups and start working with their crews. 

Charlton maintains a 24-hour staffed headquarters and divides its full-time firefighters into four teams that work 24-hour shifts. The department’s main response area spans over 44 square miles and encompasses about 300 miles of road. The town states that the department handles over 2,600 service calls each year.
