Goffstown Fire Department Remembered Captain William Connor

Goffstown, NH — September 12 — The Goffstown Fire Department honored Captain William “Bill” Connor on the anniversary of his passing. Connor passed away on September 12, 2024, while serving as the department’s Community Risk Division director. He was 63 years old.
Connor started his career in fire service in Goffstown as a call firefighter in 1980.
He later became a permanent firefighter and fire inspector in 1997, holding the rank of lieutenant. He was promoted to captain on June 1, 2023. In addition to his role at the fire department, Connor also served as the town’s Health Officer and worked in various areas such as fire protection engineering, fire investigation, fire safety, and related fields.
In 2021, Connor completed the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer School.
He also earned a bachelor’s degree in Fire Service Administration from the University of New Hampshire in May 2024, graduating with highest honors.
Connor’s contributions went beyond the fire department.
He was actively involved with the Boy Scouts of America Troop 99 in Goffstown and had served as the troop’s Scoutmaster.
