Bantam, Conn. — September 17 — Members of the Bantam Fire Company spent the evening practicing pump operations and inspecting dry hydrants as part of the department’s continued readiness for emergency water-supply tasks.
During the hands-on session, firefighters had the chance to operate their pumping equipment and also inspect dry hydrants, which can supply water from non-pressurized sources when a pressurized municipal hydrant is unavailable.
