Georgetown Volunteer Fire Company Puts New Ladder 31 in Service

Georgetown, Conn. — September 2 — The Georgetown Volunteer Fire Company has put Ladder 31, a new 77-foot rear-mount aerial, into service, enhancing its emergency-response fleet.
As stated in the department’s announcement, Ladder 31 is fitted with a 500-gallon water tank and a Waterous pump capable of delivering 1,500 gallons per minute. The apparatus is also equipped with tools used for structural firefighting, ventilation, rescue, and other emergency operations.
The new ladder takes the place of Engine 31 and Tower 38, both of which have been retired after more than 25 years of service to the community.
Independent industry records confirm that Georgetown’s new Ladder 31 is a 2026 Spartan Metro Star/ Smeal 77-foot rear-mount aerial quint, equipped with a 1,500-gpm Waterous pump and a 500-gallon tank.
