Henniker and Hillsboro Firefighters Completed Ladder Training

Henniker, NH — September 21 — The Henniker Firefighters Association conducted a combined training exercise with personnel from the Hillsboro Fire Department, focusing on ladder handling techniques.

This training enabled firefighters from both departments to collaborate and revisit ladder skills that are essential during emergency situations.

Teams practiced the teamwork and positioning required to safely set up and use ladders at incident locations.

Ladder operations continue to play a vital role in firefighting, especially in scenarios involving multi-story structures, roof access, ventilation, and rescue efforts.

Engaging in training with nearby departments also helped crews become more acquainted with each other’s equipment and standard operating procedures.

Henniker has a longstanding tradition of partnering with Hillsboro for ladder-specific training.

A 2021 report from the Henniker Fire Department detailed a previous joint session with Hillsboro that concentrated on the use and placement of the department’s ladder truck at multi-story buildings.

Henniker town records also indicate that the department has consistently participated in a regular training program covering fire and rescue operations.

The September training enhanced coordination between the neighboring departments and provided firefighters with more hands-on experience to better prepare for future emergency calls.
