Chichester Firefighters Completed Winching Safety Training

Chichester, NH — September 14 — The Chichester Fire Department conducted a training session centered on winching safety, recovery methods, and safe procedures when working near tow and wreck trucks.

Fred Potter from Rockingham County Towing led the session, which included guidance on correct winching techniques and safety protocols for firefighters operating around towing and recovery equipment.

The training allowed firefighters to revisit strategies that can be applied during vehicle collisions, off-road emergencies, and other situations needing vehicle recovery.

Firefighters from Pittsfield, Epsom, and Loudon also participated, offering area departments a chance to train together and exchange operational knowledge.

This training aligns with the Chichester Fire Department's ongoing emphasis on firefighter and rescue training.

According to town records, the department frequently carries out fire and emergency medical training sessions, all aimed at equipping members to handle a variety of emergency scenarios.
