Bristol Community Marks 25th Anniversary of 9/11 With Fire Service Remembrance

Bristol, Conn. — September 11, 2026 — On Friday, firefighters, first responders, and members of the Bristol community came together at Bristol Fire Headquarters to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks and honor those who lost their lives that day.
The ceremony took place as communities throughout Connecticut and the nation commemorated the anniversary. A local report from WTNH characterized the gathering at Bristol Fire Headquarters as a tribute to the nearly 3,000 victims and the first responders who perished while responding to the attacks.
The remembrance featured remarks from Bristol Fire Chief Richard “Rick” Hart, who looked back on the events of September 11 and discussed their ongoing effects on firefighters, police officers, emergency medical workers, dispatchers, families, and communities.
