Jewett City Firefighters Completed Team Search Drill

Jewett City, CT — September 2 — Members of the Jewett City Fire Department participated in a training session that focused on improving firefighter search skills and promoting effective teamwork.One member was also continuing their Firefighter 1 training during the session.

The drill allowed the firefighters to practice search operations in a controlled training environment.

During the session, crews worked together to enhance their communication, coordination, and search techniques, which are essential during interior fire operations.

The training also gave the department’s Firefighter 1 trainee more hands-on experience while allowing other members to maintain and refine their abilities.

Regular training helps firefighters become more familiar with procedures and equipment before they are needed in an actual emergency.

Training is a vital part of fire service operations.

Connecticut offers statewide firefighter training resources through the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection and the Connecticut Fire Academy.The state also has a network of fire service organizations and training facilities available to departments throughout the state.
