BTFD Responds to 27 Calls During August

In August, the Barre Town Fire Department answered 27 calls for service, with firefighters responding to alarms, motor vehicle accidents, fires, medical emergencies, and other incidents. 

The department’s August activity report indicates that nine calls pertained to investigations into fire or carbon monoxide alarms. Firefighters also attended seven motor vehicle collisions, two of which involved vehicle extrication. One of the crashes resulted in a fatality. 

The department recorded four fires in the month: one involving a building, one involving a vehicle, one brush fire, and one illegal burn. 

Crews also attended to two EMS calls, a situation with trees fallen across a road or power line, and one odor-related investigation. 

Three more calls were canceled either during response or after no incident was located.
