Boston Fire Welcomes Students Back

Boston, Mass. — September 8 — At the beginning of the new school year, firefighters and teachers came together at John D. O'Bryant School of Mathematics and Science in Roxbury, where Boston Fire Department members greeted students with a first-day sticker giveaway. 


On September 8, 2026, the Boston Fire Department and its Fire Prevention Education Unit teamed up with students and families at the school as Boston Public Schools kicked off its new academic year for grades 112. The O'Bryant School's official calendar also designates September 8 as its first day of school. 


At the beginning of the school year, firefighters took advantage of the event to engage with students and families.
