YMCA Donates Gym Equipment to East Bridgewater Firefighters

East Bridgewater, Mass. — August 31 — A local partnership is assisting East Bridgewater firefighters in maintaining readiness for the physical challenges of emergency response, with the Old Colony YMCA - East Bridgewater donating gym equipment to the fire department.
On August 31, 2026, the East Bridgewater Fire Department announced a donation of strength-training equipment to be added to its station gym. The department stated that the equipment will assist firefighters in staying fit and healthy while getting ready for the physical challenges of emergency operations.
The collaboration between the YMCA and the fire department is also recorded in town documents. In November 2025, an East Bridgewater Select Board meeting agenda featured a discussion about a YMCA donation of dumbbells and barbells to the fire department.
