Brookline Firefighters Honor Those Lost on September 11

Emergency-services workers in Brookline, Massachusetts, joined communities nationwide in honoring those lost and the first responders who perished while responding to the September 11, 2001 attacks.
The local commemoration occurred on September 11, 2026, to honor the 25th anniversary of the attacks. The Brookline Fire Department issued a message paying tribute to the victims and acknowledging the bravery and sacrifice of the first responders who acted that day.
The National September 11 Memorial & Museum lists 2,977 victims of the 2001 attacks, not including the 19 hijackers. Included among them were 343 FDNY firefighters, 37 officers from the Port Authority Police Department, and 23 NYPD officers.
