Barnstable Fire Department Welcomed Firefighter/Paramedic John Mahoney

Barnstable, MA — August 18 — The Barnstable Fire Department officially welcomed Firefighter/Paramedic John Mahoney as a new member of their team. Mahoney joined the department following more than seven years of service with the Sandwich Fire Department. He had also previously worked with the West Barnstable Fire Department.


Mahoney brought valuable experience in both fire suppression and emergency medical services to his new role.

In his position as a firefighter/paramedic, his responsibilities included responding to fire emergencies, medical incidents, and other calls that required the use of fire and emergency medical services resources.


Barnstable’s fire service covers the town’s various villages and provides emergency response to both residents and visitors.

According to town records, the fire service operates across multiple fire districts and departments that serve different communities throughout Cape Cod.


Fire-based emergency medical services continue to be a key component of emergency response in Barnstable.

Town documents have emphasized the important role firefighter/paramedics play in delivering advanced emergency medical care and collaborating with other public safety agencies.


Mahoney’s previous service with both Sandwich and West Barnstable gave him valuable local fire service experience before joining Barnstable.

His addition to the department increased staffing levels and brought another experienced firefighter/paramedic into the department’s response operations.


The department expressed its welcome for Mahoney and wished him a long and successful career with the Barnstable Fire Department.
