Audubon Park Fire Department Remembers 9/11

The Audubon Park Fire Department took a moment on Friday to honor the lives lost and those who responded to the call, 25 years after the September 11, 2001 attacks.

In particular, the department paid tribute to the 343 FDNY firemen who lost their lives while fighting the attacks. 2,977 individuals were murdered in the assaults, including 343 FDNY firemen, according to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.

The department also honored the numerous individuals whose lives were impacted by that day's events, including police officers, emergency medical staff, and members of the armed forces.

September 11 is still a day for the fire department to remember and think back on the bravery and selflessness of those who served others. The Audubon Park Fire Department marked the 25th anniversary with a simple message of remembrance: “Same Courage. Same Sacrifice. Never Forgotten.”
