Volunteer Firefighters Were Recognized Across the Community

Prospect Park, NJ — August 18 — The Prospect Park Volunteer Fire Department honored the contributions of its volunteer firefighters on Volunteer Firefighters Recognition Day.This observance celebrated the dedication, training, and service these members provide to their communities.The National Volunteer Fire Council officially recognized August 18 as Volunteer Firefighters Recognition Day and urged communities to acknowledge the efforts of firefighters who respond to emergencies and support public safety initiatives.

For the Prospect Park Volunteer Fire Department, located at 106 Brown Ave., the day served as a chance to acknowledge the members who commit their time to emergency responses, training, equipment maintenance, and community service.

Volunteer firefighters routinely assist in a wide range of incidents, including fires, vehicle accidents, medical emergencies, and other urgent situations.
