HALEDON, NJ — August 26 — Members of Haledon Company Two conducted their second drill session of the week, using the opportunity to review essential firefighting skills and ensure they were prepared for emergency situations.
During the training, firefighters practiced various response techniques and learned about the components and proper use of their self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
The session also covered cleaning and maintaining equipment, allowing firefighters to inspect their gear and address any necessary repairs before their next call.
Regular training continues to be a key part of maintaining firefighter readiness.
According to New Jersey fire safety regulations, firefighters who use respiratory protection must receive training on how to properly use, clean, and maintain their equipment. The state also mandates ongoing training for those who rely on respiratory protection during their duties.
The department’s drill night incorporated both hands-on practice and equipment maintenance.
For Haledon Company Two, the session helped reinforce safe operating procedures and kept firefighters familiar with the SCBA equipment used during interior firefighting and other incidents that require respiratory protection.
