Fire Crews Strengthened Gas Emergency Skills During PSE&G Drill

HALEDON, NJ — August 24 — Members of Haledon Company Two participated in a training session organized by the Prospect Park Fire Department, led by PSE&G.The training was focused on dealing with natural gas and carbon monoxide emergencies, allowing firefighters to review and practice safe response methods.

The session covered various dangers that emergency responders might encounter during gas-related incidents, as well as the importance of effective communication and teamwork between firefighters and utility workers.

PSE&G provided specialized training materials to help emergency officials prepare for gas-related situations.

Carbon monoxide was another key topic, as it is a colorless and odorless gas that can lead to severe health issues if it accumulates indoors.

The training also improved collaboration between nearby fire departments.
