Totowa Fire Department Marked 25 Years Since 9/11

TOTOWA, NJ — September 11 — The Totowa Fire Department honored the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks, and paid tribute to the responders and civilians who lost their lives that day. The attacks resulted in the deaths of 2,977 people at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in Pennsylvania. At the World Trade Center, 343 members of the New York City Fire Department perished. Police officers, emergency personnel, and civilians were also among the casualties.

For those who responded to the attacks, the anniversary served as a reminder of the responsibilities and actions taken during emergencies, including answering emergency calls, collaborating with other agencies, assisting those in need, and supporting fellow responders.

The display at the Totowa Fire Department, located at 22 Mitchell Avenue, provided a space for reflection and remembrance of those who were lost.

The department acknowledged the families and responders impacted by the rescue and recovery efforts.

The 25th anniversary reaffirmed the ongoing commitment to remember September 11 and the service provided on that day.
