Comprehensive Suppression Readiness: Station 22 Firefighters Conduct Intensive Hands-On Training in Brick

BRICK, NJ — Volunteer firefighters trained late into the night Wednesday, completing an extensive series of multi-discipline drills to reinforce fireground suppression tactics and apparatus operations.

On the evening of September 9, members of Pioneer Hose Company 1 (Station 22) in Ocean County assembled for an intensive, practical training session focused on core structural and specialized firefighting proficiencies.

Crews ran repeated evolutions on rapid handline deployments, hose advancement through tight entry points, and nozzle management techniques. Firefighters also engaged in specialized training on Class A and B foam systems, reviewing eductor mechanics, application rates, and proportioning techniques for liquid fuel and deep-seated fires.

Simultaneously, the department’s driver-operators conducted advanced qualifications and refreshers on master pump operations and elevated aerial ladder maneuvers, ensuring Station 22 personnel maintain seamless operational readiness for structural, commercial, and technical rescue responses.
