Somerset, NJ - Firefighters gathered Saturday for a comprehensive, cross-departmental training evolution aimed at streamlining tool integration and enhancing coordination during mutual aid fireground operations.

On Saturday, August 22, members of the Little Rocky Hill Volunteer Fire Company (Franklin Township District 2) and the neighboring Rocky Hill Fire Department in Somerset County united for an extensive, hands-on educational drill.

The joint evolution focused on mutual familiarization with specialized tools, forcible entry equipment, hydraulic rescue gear, and unique apparatus loadouts carried by each department's frontline engines and rescue trucks. Firefighters conducted in-depth walkthroughs and practical evolutions, comparing tactical applications and operational protocols across both fleets.

By reinforcing interagency familiarity and building working relationships on the training ground, both departments strengthened their seamless integration, ensuring rapid tool deployment and maximum firefighter safety during multi-alarm emergency calls.
