Newbrook Fire & Rescue Remembered September 11, 2001

NEWFANE, VT — September 11 — Newbrook Fire & Rescue honored September 11, 2001, and the 2,977 individuals who lost their lives during the attacks in New York, at the Pentagon, and near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
The anniversary also served as a moment to acknowledge the first responders who worked at the disaster sites and those who continued to serve during the rescue, recovery, and cleanup efforts.
The attacks significantly impacted emergency response operations and highlighted the critical need for coordination among fire departments, law enforcement, emergency medical services, and other agencies.
The effects of these events continued long after the immediate response.The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention noted that responders and survivors faced health issues linked to exposure to dust, smoke, and debris.The World Trade Center Health Program continues to offer medical monitoring and treatment for eligible responders and survivors.
On September 11, Newbrook Fire & Rescue paid tribute to those who were lost, the families who endured their loss, and the responders and survivors whose lives were forever changed.
The department honored their service and sacrifice, and clearly conveyed the message of remembrance.
