East Dover Firefighters Honored Those Lost on September 11

EAST DOVER, VT — September 11 — The East Dover Volunteer Fire Department honored the firefighters, law enforcement officers, civilians, and other responders who lost their lives during the September 11, 2001 attacks.
Twenty-five years ago, 343 FDNY members and 71 law enforcement officers died in New York City while responding to the attacks.
Thousands of civilians also lost their lives in New York, at the Pentagon, and near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.The attacks had lasting health effects on those who responded at the World Trade Center site.
These events transformed emergency response operations and left a lasting impact on fire and emergency service agencies across the country.
Responders continue to honor those who died and remember those who later became ill due to their work at the disaster site.
On the 25th anniversary, East Dover firefighters honored the service and sacrifice of that day.
The department paid tribute to the families, survivors, and responders whose lives were deeply affected.A message remained clear: Never Forget.
