Guilford Fire Department Honored Mike Terrio’s Fire Service Legacy

GUILFORD, CT — August 21 — The Guilford Fire Department, located at 390 Church Street, Guilford, CT, United States, 06437, recently observed the one-year anniversary of Firefighter Mike Terrio's passing.The department honored his service and the strong bonds he formed with his colleagues.


Firefighter Terrio, who was also an EMT, tragically died in August 2025 after a multi-vehicle accident in Guilford.

The department described him as a committed member who devoted himself to serving the community.Prior to joining the Guilford Fire Department, Terrio worked as an EMT in Branford and was affiliated with the Madison Hose Company 1.He also had military experience, having served in the U.S.Army Airborne and was honorably discharged as a sergeant in 2020.


Guilford firefighters had previously acknowledged Terrio's completion of his probationary period as a firefighter/EMT in 2023.

Department records also highlight his active participation in local emergency medical services.


The anniversary offered the department an opportunity to reflect on the life of a valued colleague, firefighter, and friend, whose contributions continue to be a part of the department’s legacy.
