Meriden Firefighters Advanced to New Leadership Positions

MERIDEN, CT — August 28 — Meriden Fire Local 1148 acknowledged five members who received promotions within the department.Deputy Chief Rocco Fierravanti, Assistant Chief Justin Avery, Captain Conner Mullen, Lieutenant John Branigan, and Fire Inspector Joe Amento were honored during a special ceremony held by the department.

These promotions brought new leadership roles that cover various aspects of operations and fire prevention.

Each of the promoted individuals now has greater responsibilities related to personnel management, incident handling, training, inspections, and administrative tasks.

The City of Meriden Department of Fire and Emergency Services functions as a comprehensive department with several divisions, including administration, operations, the Fire Marshal’s Office, and training.

The department offers a wide range of services such as fire suppression, hazardous materials response, technical rescue, emergency medical services, and public fire education.The city reported that the department consists of 103 members, with 100 being sworn fire personnel.

Meriden Fire Local 1148 represents the department’s members and is listed by the city as one of its recognized labor organizations.

The promotions highlighted the service and growth contributions of these individuals to the Meriden community.
