Hartford Fire Department Honored the Fallen on September 11

Hartford, VT — September 11 — The Hartford Fire Department, located at 812 VA Cutoff Road, Hartford, VT, United States, 05001, joined emergency service agencies nationwide in remembering those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.Twenty-five years prior, four hijacked airplanes were used in attacks that resulted in the deaths of nearly 3,000 people.

The response at the World Trade Center became the largest rescue effort in New York City's history, involving nearly 1,000 firefighters and about 2,000 police officers.The attacks also led to the loss of 343 New York City firefighters, 71 law enforcement officers, and eight EMTs and paramedics.

For the emergency services community, September 11 remains a powerful reminder of the duties and sacrifices faced by firefighters, EMS providers, dispatchers, and law enforcement officers.

The Hartford Fire Department has continued to serve its community through fire suppression, emergency medical services, and technical rescue operations.

Its all-hazards approach has also played a key role in supporting emergency response efforts across the state of Vermont.

The anniversary served as a reinforcement of the importance of preparedness, training, teamwork, and the care provided to those who serve.
