Shelton Fire Marks 25 Years Since September 11

The Shelton Fire Department officers and members are paying tribute to the firemen, police officers, emergency medical personnel, and civilians who perished in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

The 343 personnel of the City of New York Fire Department who lost their lives while responding to the attacks are included in the department's commemoration.

Additionally, Shelton firefighters are commemorating the first responders who are still coping with diseases and other health consequences related to their job at the World Trade Center site. The department extended its remembrance to the nearly 3,000 civilians who were killed that day, emphasizing that their lives and the sacrifices of first responders will continue to be remembered. The Shelton Fire Department is an all-hazards department with four companies and four stations serving the city.
