Bordentown TWP, NJ - Bordentown Township Fire District 1 personnel took part in rural water supply training alongside Station 331 – Franklin Fire Company, focusing on strengthening operations in areas where hydrant access is limited and sustained water delivery is essential.

The training on 27 August in Burlington County brought multiple companies together to work through real-world rural firefighting scenarios where water must be transported, established, and continuously managed over extended distances. Crews rotated through different operational roles to improve coordination and efficiency across the entire water supply chain.

Personnel practiced portable dump tank setup, tanker shuttle operations, drafting from static water sources, and strategic apparatus positioning to maintain optimal flow on the fireground. Additional emphasis was placed on using engines as relay and transfer points to ensure uninterrupted water supply during extended incidents.

The drill highlighted the importance of strong communication and seamless coordination between mutual aid partners, ensuring that when rural incidents occur, all responding units can operate together as a unified and effective team.
