Cinnaminson, NJ - Cinnaminson Fire Department members have participated in a department-wide swift water rescue training initiative in partnership with Pomona Swim Club in Burlington County, focusing on building foundational capability for future flood and swift water operations.

On 30 August at Pomona Swim Club in Burlington County, platoon swim tests have been conducted to establish baseline requirements for members seeking qualification as Swift/Flood Water Rescue Swimmers. The testing phase has been designed to evaluate endurance, comfort, and readiness in controlled aquatic conditions as part of the department’s new operational development program.

Following successful completion of the swim assessments, the department has begun preparing members for formal swift water rescue school scheduled for next year, marking a significant step toward expanding specialized water rescue capabilities across the agency.

This new program has been introduced to enhance regional response readiness for flood-related emergencies, ensuring personnel are trained and equipped to operate safely and effectively in fast-moving water environments.
