CONESUS, NY — AUGUST 28, 2026 — Rob Sparks, who started his emergency services career with the Conesus Fire Department as a firefighter and later worked as an EMT and paramedic, is being honored by the department.
According to his obituary, Sparks, 58, passed away quietly on August 28, 2026, in Noyes Memorial Hospital while surrounded by loved ones. He worked for Livingston County EMS and Livonia EMS during his emergency medical services career. After receiving his paramedic certification in 2011, he joined Livingston County EMS as a full-time shift supervisor.
In 2021, Sparks won the Livingston County Distinguished Service Award and was named New York State Paramedic of the Year for his work in emergency medical services. The Conesus Fire Department said Sparks' impact on the community will continue through the people he served and those who follow in his footsteps.
“We’ll take it from here,” the department said in remembering its former member.
