Nashua, NH - The Nashua Fire Rescue Dive Team conducted specialized training this week at Crown Hill Pool, focusing on integrating a newly installed hardwired underwater communication system into operational use.

On August 28 in Nashua, New Hampshire, divers and shore personnel worked through controlled training evolutions designed to test and refine real-time underwater communication between submerged divers and surface support teams. The system allows direct voice communication, significantly improving coordination during underwater search and rescue operations.

During the training, members practiced structured search patterns while maintaining continuous communication with surface supervisors, allowing for improved tracking, safer diver movement, and faster decision-making during simulated emergency scenarios. The exercise also helped reinforce teamwork between divers and support personnel, ensuring clearer command flow in low-visibility underwater environments.

The department emphasized that this advancement will enhance both efficiency and safety during future water rescue incidents, particularly in complex or high-risk recovery operations.
